Michael Ostrick, O.D. is a 1979 graduate of Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. In 1981 he was a PERK Study Coordinator (Prospective Evaluation of Radial Keratotomony) at LSU Eye Center in New Orleans; as well as did post op evaluations of epikeratophakia patients. Dr. Ostrick also participated in Primate Corneal Research at Delta Regional Primate Center in Covington, LA. From 1982 to present, Dr. Ostrick has been in private practice and participated in FDA Clinical Trials with the Excimer laser; patient trials of PRK and LASIK, as well as many of the Intraocular lenses and medications presently used in Cataract surgery.
Dr. Jennifer Moncada graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology. After completing her Undergraduate studies, she obtained her Doctorate of Optmetry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachussetts and graduated with Summa Cum Laude. Some of her externships were based in Boston’s Veteran’s Administration Hospitals, Community Health Care Centers, Multi-Specialty Ophthalmology Clinics in Miami, Florida and a Contact Lens and Low Vision specialty rotation in Madrid, Spain.
Dr. Moncada is Board Certified by the National Board of Examiners for the treatment and management of ocular disease and holds therapeutic licenses in the states of Louisiana, Florida, and Massachussetts. Dr. Moncada has served as President of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society and is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Association of Louisiana, New Orleans Contact lens society, Contact lens Section Member, and Lions Club Member. Dr. Moncada has also been involved in Pediatric research studies that include the Amblyopia Treatment Study and Convergence Insufficiency Treatment Study at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Moncada visits Nursing Homes twice a week. She provides residents with comprehensive eye exams and manages many patients with Glaucoma, Age Related Macular degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Eye infections, and dry eye syndrome. She works closely with local Ophthalmologists so that patients who need surgical intervention are treated in a prompt manner.
Dr. Moncada is deeply commited to providing excellent eye care to children of all ages and adults. She enjoys several aspects of primary eye care. Her areas of interest include Contact lenses, Pediatrics, Vision Therapy, and Ocular Disease.
Dr. Moncada speaks Spanish and English.
Cheryl Millet, owner of Saint Optical has been in the optical business for over 29 years. She specializes in patient care and believes in giving all of her patient’s her undivided attention. Despite her love for selling glasses, Cheryl is also well-known for her outstanding community service. She is a member of River Region Chamber of Commerce, St. John Business Association and has completed a numerous amount of community service projects along with the Rotary Club of Laplace where she was the past president.
Christy Salomon has demonstrated success in the health care field and consultant for over 20 years. In that time she has worked in single and multi-specialty practices. She has lead with a very hands-on approach to the daily operations of these organizations and has developed proven strategies in the management of insurance, billing, contracting and accounts receivable. She has been a part of the Saint Optical team as of 2012 and would gladly help you with any insurance inquiries you may have.
Christy Duhe – Book Keeping/Optician
Anamelia has been in the optical business for 15 years before joining the Saint Optical team in 2015. As a bilingual Optician and Lab Assistant, she enjoys helping customers considering herself as “Ana the Fashion Consultant.” Ana is always willing to help you choose the eyewear that is right for you!
Maya graduated from Dillard University in 2014, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Public Health. Maya’s desire was to work as a Physical Therapist Assistant until she joined the Saint Optical team in March 2015. While working at Saint Optical, she developed a passion as working as an Optometric Tech. Maya has a sufficient amount of experience in customer service and did various internships in the past. While in college, she did over 150 community service hours in her community and is well known for her helping spirit. She is always willing to help and serve customers in a professional way!
